What a wonderful event…yet again! It seems that every Mommies Who Shop event gets bigger and better then the one before. The new Weston venue was perfect in every way – spacious, gorgeous and had such great energy. There was a definite buzz in the air that night and a great new vibe.
To start, we can’t go without mentioning the raffle prizes. Our friends at Isis Maternity and Magic Beans generously donated some really incredible items. Isis donated 3 strollers – a Bob revolution, Phil and Ted’s Graffiti Sport and a Micralite Toro. Magic Beans donated two Stokke Tripp Trapps, a Clek Ollie Booster Seat and a Step2 Dream Kitchen. A free overnight stay at the Seaport Hotel was also raffled off. Here’s a shot of the scene.
Now, onto some of the fabulous boutiques in attendance:
il cocco di mamma
A unique, Boston-based store that sells foreign language baby gifts. Pictured below are wooden alphabet blocks in Greek, Spanish, English, Italian and French. Que bueno!
The Trendy Tot
One-of-a-kind, handcrafted kids clothing in bold graphic prints. Sandee couldn’t resist and had to pick up this absolutely delicious pink whale dress.
Hoosier Magnolia
Quilts, t-shirts, mobiles - all created from fun, playful patterns and designs and again one-of-a kind, handcrafted baby items. Love, love, love!
And, oh boy, were we pampered! Makeup and massages done by the amazing ladies of La Residencia Spa, located in Newton, MA were beyond luxurious. The owner, Jane, thought up the idea of her charming and sumptuous spa while traveling abroad. When you walk in, it’s like you’ve been transported to a villa in paradise. And, she happens to be the warmest, most divine woman possible! It’s a huge change from the mega-spa experience.
Here’s a very relaxed Sandee as she receives her massage:
A special thanks to Ann (pictured below) who works tirelessly to organize these incredible events. Our hats are off to you for another incredible job well done!

He’s dealt with your hormonal ups and downs, rubbed your sore feet and spent his free time in baby stores when you know he’d rather be watching the game…..now it’s time to pamper your dad-to-be. Just in time for Father’s Day, here are a few of our favorite items for dad:
Go Gaga Diaper bags
These are perfect for dad. They are designed with the look of a messenger bag, not your typical diaper bag, and they come in a variety of colors that even dad can enjoy (think Copper, Olive, Black, and Cayenne).
A unique feature of Go Gaga bags is the patented ergonomic strap that distributes the weight of the bag across your back. With one-hand access to baby bottles and a cushioned changing pad, Go Gaga has thought about all the details that will make dad’s life easier and more functional.
*Perfecting Expecting loves these bags so much that we use the Slide Tote (shown above) as our daily baby planning bags!
1Z by Papa Products
Baby-wearing is all the rage these days…though we find that dads are hard pressed to throw on a sling. Men tend to prefer the more traditional carriers like the Baby Bjorn. Our lovely friends, Becca and Will at Papa Products, have created an ingenious way of protecting and personalizing your baby carrier with a cover called the 1Z. Like a soft t-shirt, the 1Z easily pulls over your baby carrier and instantly transforms it into a style that is uniquely dad’s.
Spruce up a hand-me down carrier, or customize a new one ~ dad can add his favorite athlete’s jersey number, baby’s initials, or his favorite color to his baby carrier. The 1Z also makes cleanup for you a breeze because it is machine washable and easy to remove. Bye-bye drool! The 1Z is everything we love here at PE…style and practicality.
No Father’s Day Gift Guide would be complete without mentioning our Perfecting Expecting “For the Gift-Giver” and “Daddy Prep” services! If you are having trouble finding a unique gift for your dad-to-be, look no further. Contact us today and we will help you pick, package, and present that one-of-a-kind (and memorable) gift. In honor of Father’s Day, any “For the Gift-Giver” or “Daddy Prep” services purchased between now and June 21st will receive 10% off.
